Before Your Laminate Installation:
Your laminate flooring needs to acclimate for 48 hours in the room before installation. If your product is installed as a floating floor, your old floors may not need to be removed and your subfloor may require zero work! However, a floating floor installation will raise the overall flooring height, so you will need to remove your baseboards and trim, and shave doors down for full range of motion afterward.
During Your Laminate Installation:
Since you had to completely clear the rooms and closets for new laminate floors, you will need to relocate furniture, framed pieces, and electronics during installation. Designate a work zone for your flooring installers to keep their laminate installation tools, saws, and resizing laminate pieces during the installation process. Keep all children and pets away from the tools and rooms receiving new laminate.
After Your Laminate Installation:
Ventilate the home with fresh air by opening windows and turning on fans up to 24 hours after your laminate installation. Ask your installation crew about any questions you may have and check to make sure your doors have full range of motion. If your new laminate is a floating floor, it is ready for foot traffic immediately but needs 24 hours before furniture is restored. If your laminate is glued down, let the floor set for 48 hours before it receives foot traffic and furnishings are brought back in.
