Daily Hardwood Care & Maintenance
Daily hardwood flooring care should focus on removing debris particles to prevent uneven wear. Dust-mop your floor with a microfiber cloth or dust mop frequently. Vacuuming offers deep particle removal, but do not use a vacuum model with rotating brushes. Most hardwood flooring manufacturers do not allow for wet-mopping so read and follow your product guidelines closely.

If a spill hits your hardwood floor, avoid using harsh cleaners or any cleaner designed for other flooring materials. Look for liquid scratch concealer, wood floor polish, floor wax, and touch-up kits, but read all instructions before using them to ensure the product is safe for your wood species and finish. Try the cleaning product in an inconspicuous area first, use the least amount of cleaner or water needed, and dry the floor with a microfiber cloth.
