Unless you have prior hardwood installation experience, we do not recommend attempting a DIY hardwood installation. Our installation experts have all the necessary tools and expertise to install your stunning wood planks with fabulous results and minimal displacement!
Before Your Hardwood Installation:
Your hardwood planks will need to acclimate for 2-3 days in the room before installation. Your old floors will need to be removed and disposed of entirely. Your subfloor may require leveling or fixing imperfections. Since new installations can raise the overall flooring height, you may need to adjust your doors for full range of motion afterward. Remove your baseboards and trim, and shave doors down beforehand.
During Your Hardwood Installation:
Since you had to completely clear the rooms and closets for new hardwood floors, you will need to relocate furniture, framed pieces, and electronics during installation. Designate a work zone for your flooring installers to keep their hardwood installation tools, saws, and resize planks during the installation process. Keep all children and pets away from the tools and rooms receiving new hardwood.
After Your Hardwood Installation:
Ventilate the home with fresh air by opening windows and turning on fans up to 24 hours after your hardwood installation. Ask your installation crew about any questions you may have and check to make sure your doors have full range of motion. Give your new wood floors at least 24 hours before walking on them, and a full 2 days before replacing your furniture and furnishings.
